I was born and raised as a Christian but my family was progressive enough for me to grow up with more open mind and perspective. As I grew older and experience this current world more and more, I developed my own strong opinions and voice about social/racial justice and politics. Hence, I started questioning about the conservative Christian values I was taught in churches.
When I learned about progressive Christianity, it fascinated me. The more I studied about it, the more I felt comfortable with my faith and beliefs by learning that it is okay to be a Christian and not have conservative values.
However, I soon learned that Asian Americans struggle being progressive and Christian.
So I devoted my passion in researching Progressive Asian American Christian to create a campaign to help them exploring their identity and faith. The presentation below shows my whole journey and outcome of this research project.
